Thursday October 23rd there will be a partial Solar Eclipse (http://www.space.com/27447-partial-solar-eclipse-safety-tips.html) as the sun sets. Mayland will be partnering with the Blue Ridge Astronomy Group (BRAG) to offer a safe viewing opportunity at our Dark-Sky Park collocated at the EnergyXchange (/contactus/directions).

The viewing event will run from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM, so there will be time after dark for star gazing. If you come, please wear sturdy shoes as the telescopes will be setup in a field in order to catch the western horizon. If you plan to stay after dark, please bring a flashlight so you can find the way back to your vehicle.
Remember: Never look directly towards the Sun!
Please let me know if you have any questions…
